Just got this in the mail and was really glad to only pay $16 using Amazon reward points instead of the retail price of $35, so happy to get this book!

Good for you Frank; great price as well!

It's an excellent book and covers just about everything. It's saved me both money and time, and was a big help on my specific "desires", so to speak. Personally, I think it's a must for any astronomy library :D

I think you'll enjoy it, just be prepared not to put it down! It's a hard thing to do.... ;)

I notice you have the fourth edition, nice. Hope you don't mind me posting this, but here's a pic of my Third edition from my wife and daughter just over 5 years ago for my 51st birthday:

Again, nice deal Frank, and happy reading!

All the best,
Mark

No I don’t mind at all, thanks for letting me see the difference in the editions.
I just came in for a warm up out there looking at Aldebaran, Orion and some other things and LOVIN it !!
Going out one more time a little later when the two lane highway traffic is almost nonexistent and it’s nice and dark, not withstanding the moonshine!😁

You are not kidding with just a 2-60x60 spotting scope on the roof of my car for steadiness it’s a feast for the eyes!
Changed my mind from going with a 8 inch Dobson I called up High Point scientific and told him change my order to a 10 inch.
The 8 inch was in stock and would’ve shipped but the 10 inch won’t be available till the end of February which I guess is good in one way because it’ll give me time to learn the night sky by the constellations and I guess Patience is always a good thing in this hobby lol!!
