I played hide and seek for a bit friday night, but finally succumbed to fatigue ... both mental and physical. :lol:

Hmmm????

At the beginning of the video, he refers to interplanetary probes??? In 1961 there had been no interplanetary probes aside from those that attempted and failed on launch.

I am guessing in those days they included Lunar Probes in Interplanetary probes
The Jan 1959 Luna 1 was probably intended to be a lunar impactor but missed the moon and therefore became interplanetary :)

A wonderful video from the past with Sir Patrick Moore. And nothing has changed today (except maybe worse). Astronomers propose and then mother nature disposes.
