Moon Features
So, I WAS going to photograph a full moon last night, but clouds rolled in, and I couldnt.
However, Here is an older photo of the moon I took, and I decided to label the features and areas on it.
Did I get the features and areas right?

Re: Moon Features
Hi Jared. I see you had the some problem as me last night - plagued by cloudy skies (see my report here - viewtopic.php?f=28&t=9391&start=1740)
Very frustrating.
Great previous Moon shots from you though

Re: Moon Features
Oh yes, it's a fine shot and indeed, I see the lunar paw print. The names seem okay to me.
Here's an idea for when clouds are in the way when you feel like some serious lunar observing: visit the Moon on Quickmap. You can zoom in to 0.5 m/px and observe amazing stuff like boulders sitting on the surface.
See for instance this zoomed in view of Theophilus' central peak. I turned the nomenclature on and when you zoom out you will eventually see labels identifying named features.

Re: Moon Features
Could someone please explain this "cat in the moon/lunar pawprint?"
I cant tell if its a joke or if its a real feature. If it is a feature, I cant see it.
Is it my circles looking like a paw print?

Your picture of the Moon with the red circles and the red lines, take a step back and look at it, it looks like a cartoon cat 's face.

Well, I was going to post a cat emoji - but I guess it doesn't work? It works in preview, but not when submitted - huh.

Re: Moon Features
Hi Jared; nice pic for sure! And nicely identified as well.
I agree with the others; looking at the "ID pic" as it's posted without clicking on it, my first thought was it looks like acat 's face!
Trust me, I'm not making fun here, but you couldn't have done that any better if you tried!!
Hope you get a full Moon soon (Strawberry or not) and thanks for making my Friday night
All the best,
