Could multi-shot noise reduction work for astrophotography?

Could multi-shot noise reduction work for astrophotography?

or would it not work

it requires shooting jpgs. so maybe it wont be any better than 1 normal picture

i was thinking it could cut the amount of frames required to stack and align manually by 1/4 in DSS

but i dont know if it is capable of aligning star images. or by how much its alignment will allow being offset.
