Brandon 16 vs televue 15 for solar alpha-h

Post by David 28 »

Hi, I like to know which of these oculars give the best views for Coronado pst. I think that The 15 mm tv plossl would be better than a standaard 15 mm plossl and has a little bigger image. But, about the 16 mm Brandon eyepiece I know nothing. Thanks for the tip or any suggestions.

Since you are only viewing in one wavelength with Ha, either Plossl will do fine and I doubt you would notice any difference using a Brandon other than a slightly smaller FOV.

You would notice differences if viewing a planet using the different eyepieces.

One comment for using a Brandon eyepiece, these are designed for longer focal length telescopes typically f/7 or slower.
In fast telescopes the view along the edge with deteriorate quickly.

Thanks. I will order the 15 mm TV plossl eyepiece! And use it together with my 20 mm silvertop plossl eyepiece. 👍
