I am thinking of adding focus motors to several of my scopes. I upgraded my rack and pinons on my Celestron XLT120 and XLT102AZ to GSO linear 10-1 focusers (Syntra style) and have the original 10-1 focuser on the Skywatcher 100ED and Lunt 102ED, I am pretty sure they are also syntra focusers.
I really don't want to change out for a Moonlight or Starlight. I am looking at the Pegasus Astro Focus Cubes, there are two types that I can see. The Astro-Motor Focus kit V2 ($148) which seems to need an addtional controller ($200) and the Astro Focus Cube 2 ($303) that seems to be stand alone. I would add a hand controller to either one.
They seem to do that same thing and for a single scope the Cube might be the best choice but if I am going to eventually get 2 or more, the kit might be the better option as the control box and hand controller could be used on each focuser, since I only use 1 scope at a time.
eventually I hope to control the scopes remotely from my den.
What I see is
Cube 2 for 1 $303, for 2 $606 for 3 $909
kit V2 for 1 $350, for 2 $500 for 3 $650 since the controller is movable. so basically I could get 3 for 2.
What is the difference between the two focus motors and will they work on my scopes
I might not always be right but I am never wrong, once I thought I was wrong, but I was mistaken...
