Thinking about buying a Stanley 1000/500 Amp 12v Jump Starter. Need it to run my portable hair dryer for occasional dew on my binoculars. What is your opinion on this starter and others that might be better at a lower cost?

That's what I use to power my GOTO throughout the night.
It's not a forever product. Say it last a year or 2. You're only out $60.

You should easily get a few years from it, my standard 17Ah batteries usually last 5-6 years before needing replacement.
Make sure you charge and store it properly and the Lithium battery should last you a long time.

You might want to check Harbor Freight if you have one nearby.

I have an older Black and Decker version. It also has a low wattage 120v outlet. It's at least ten years old and I've swapped out the SLA batter once for about $15-20 (don't remember exactly).

Another option is the lithium battery HALO series. They sell on TV all the time (QVC, etc.). Very compact and light weight.
