Added: I don't understand why Celestron doesn't also sell this as a stand-alone unit. What if you just want to add one of these things to some other telescope, such as some other-brand Dobsonian? Seems like it should work well enough in such an application. Why should anyone have to buy a cheap telescope and tripod just to get Celestron's special phone-bracket/mirror combo and the software? Well, perhaps some Celestron vendors will dis-assemble them and start offering the cheap/new star-sense as a stand-alone.
