Orion IntelliScope Display
On my new Orion XT10i - the display on the Object Locator was so faint it was unreadable. I decided to check things out and open the unit.
Inside is a small pot that will adjust the character display nicely the background (brightness) can be adjusted by cycling the power button.
Cheers....

Re: Orion IntelliScope Display
Just for info, these handsets do not like cold and damp very much. Try to keep it as warm and dry as possible in winter. I sometimes pop mine into an old glove if I won't be using it for a few minutes.

Re: Orion IntelliScope Display
Hand warmer packets held in place with elastic against the back will also help out in colder temperatures.
I also have a Kendrick dewheater designed to fit a Celestron hand controller.

Great idea using the hand warmer packets, simplicity is the best! One less wire to get tangled, at -20C all that stuff gets stiff and becomes a spring.
