Universal Auto focus

#1

Post by Bearcatrp »

Does anyone make a universal electronic auto focus for most telescopes, specifically for mine listed in my signature? Would be nice not to have to touch the telescope once set up. My laptop can control the camera, telescope controller takes care of movement, so a electronic focus would complete my setup. Have looked at a few but not much out there for a Meade telescope.

One of these would probably work on your Maksutov but it wouldn't be controllable from your laptop.

It would be ok if you're a Bahtinov mask user.

The ZWO EAF works well for me. The only thing is the bracket just works for skywatcher. I concocted an aluminum bracket with a wooden base glued to the OTA and it's a decent solution. I control it from Ekos on my Pi remotely.

Don't mind if its a separate controller. My old hands are not steady enough so wanting some kind of controller.
