Show Us Your Astronomy Hobby Tool Box

Went to the Home Depot to get some backup screws for my mount's extension tube. I then picked up a egg container at the Walmart. Things were kinda spread out in several zip lock bags. The egg container works for the few tools that I use. Left click the image.

Interesting! I currently use a 19 inch plastic toolbox and an 8 inch camera bag, and even then I have to search for some of the items I need. I really need to organize a little better! I have no pics at this time.

When I go out to a dark site it's usually at least an hour from home so I really have no room to forget anything. Because of that I usually bring the kitchen sink with me.

The most important thing to me is a checklist. I have a checklist for when I'm going out to image, because I bring different things, and also like this checklist, when I'm going out for visual observing or star parties.
Image

That "toolbox" you see checked on that list is a large Bostitch toolbox I picked up from Lowes. Here's its contents.

Cantilever toolbox by Tactix
Sold by national hardware chain in Australia (Bunnings)
This is the box that goes with my EM200 mount. Can be used with that mount for AP or visual with ATM 6" f7, VIXEN VC200L, ED80 etc or with ATM 18" f5.5 Dob. Also contains items for photography except camera & lenses ( in own camera bag) and my APPS https://joe-cali.com/astronomy/astropho ... index.html (in own box)
The tool box is well ventilated so that condensation after a cold nights observing dries quickly all by itself rather than becoming a fungal breeding ground like those hermetically sealed Pelican cases.

Like the way you have the eyepieces on top for easy reach.

My astro tool box is a plastic Rubbermaid (?) shoebox. My tool toolbox is a plastic Stanley and my EP case is an Apache. I use a different plastic Stanley toolbox for transporting my 80mm and I put a few odds and ends in there.

I just got my second apache box for visual lenses, etc. I also just got one of those .50 cal ammo boxes for all the electrical cords, power adapters, USB cords, etc. Perfect size and water tight. I had been using an 11? gallon Rubbermaid "tub" but it became so cluttered that I had to do something about it. I still have all kinds of adapters, spacers, etc. I need to do something with. Maybe a toolbox would work for all those misc items. I only carry three tools - a "Swiss Army" type of screwdriver/wrench (but much bigger than the actual Swiss Army sets), a vice grip, and a small flat head screw driver for the hand controller/usb connector. And of course Duct Tape. That'll fix 99% of all problems. :)

I don't really have one yet. I have only bought a case for carrying my CEM120 around.
