I also purchased a 2" extension tube. Looks like the price on the focuser went up $16 since my purchase. Both combo focusers are silky smooth. I decided to order two finder mounts. The RACI on the left, and the red dot finder on the right. Cant think of anything eles I want to add to this great refractor which I got used for $250. Left click the images.
Congrats RD! This is a nice focuser. I have it on my short and chubby brother of yours. It handles 2" filter wheel with hefty Baader diagonal and EP no problem.

I'm looking at a GSO for my ST120. It made a huge difference when I put one on my ST80. The stock R&P does look pretty sad next to a Crayford.

ST80 stock focuser is pretty bad, so replacing it with GSO is a big improvement. But I like Synta one speed 2" focuser they put on many Celestron, Orion and SW models including 150ST, 120ST and the yard canon. After re-greasing and adjusting tension it is not bad. I kept the stock focuser when I had 120ST and the only reason I have replaced the stock focuser on 150ST because I needed longer focuser travel for my filter wheel.
Just got back in from a first try with my new focuser. First shot was the Moon at 240 magnification with my zoom eyepiece and barlow. There is no doubt that I can get quicker and better focus with the dual adjustments. The telescope now has a much more professional feel to it. A truly great investment.
