Carrying case

#1

Post by hgole »

The potential for damage outweighs my pride so was hoping someone might have experience with the orion padded tripod 15175 case. Designed for proview equatorial tripod/mount...what I’m not sure about is what the small internal pad with two velcro straps is for, it is only on one end, not a full length divider. There were no instructions and I haven’t been able to find a picture of the tripod in the case. It is my understanding that I should be able to leave the mount on the tripod. Greatly appreciate any help, even if you have to laugh while responding.

I have never used one of the padded cases before, what I use for traveling by vehicle are hard sided golf club cases.
My ASGT and Vixen SXP will fit in (tripod with mount attached) with counterweights laid at the bottom end, cables and such in a bag at the top.
A few 2" foam strips for cushioning.
They have handle top and center to help loading and wheels on bottom to roll it out to the viewing spot.

This is Plano version, the price was about $80USD
