This should be very interesting to see because there all kinds of ways to make a clinometer.

Here is one that I made some time ago and still have. I have even used it a few times and it came in handy like for identifying things and catching the ISS.

Used to have a "Gunners Quadrant". May just get a military surplus one. Google it. They are usually solid brass and have a "COOL" factor that is undeniable! Lol! Bill

This is my Suunto clinometer. Used it quite a bit in Forestry.
This one has two scales. The left is degrees and the right is %.
You keep both eyes open, hold it up to one eye and align the line with the object. The line is much clearer IRL.
