Re: Eye piece question
Still no eye pieces from California. 2 weeks ago I decided to get a superwide 14mm Meade since my regular order is messed up. Have to wait 30 days before getting a refund. My superwide came in 2 weeks out of Nevada. Hope to test it tonight.

Ahhh! Now that's one of my favorites. Easy on the budget, very comfortable. I love the twist-up eyecups. Just don't get your fingers in the sticky grease. You must let us know your impressions.Bearcatrp wrote: ↑Wed May 27, 2020 9:51 pm This is what I ordered to try out. https://www.meade.com/meade-series-5000 ... -1-25.html

Re: Eye piece question
Sticky grease? The rubber eyecup doesn't budge. Just tried it. This eye piece is massive compared to the other eye pieces I have. Has some weight to it too. Now if the clouds at night would clear, I could try this.

Got it. See the grease too. Thanks for the heads up. Another cloudy night, darn it.

Re: Eye piece question
Finally a clear night to test it out. Nice eye piece. Unfortunately my cell phone holder will not fit over the eye end. Not big enough. Did get a few pics of the moon with my other eye pieces. Didn't stay out long as I wanted to watch the protesters get gassed last night. If my other eye pieces ever arrive, the cell phone holder will fit on those. One is a 14mm. Got to find a better cell phone holder though. The Meade version stinks.

Re: Eye piece question
Broke in the 14mm this morning. Works awesome. Looked at Jupiter with awe. Didn't get any sticky grease on my fingers either.
