Galoc EP Question
I have had a Galoc 16.3mm EP since 1972. It is as good as ever and still provides exceptional views.
Does anyone know what type of optical design applies to this EP ? Also, does anyone have a guess what the AFOV might be? I just measured the field stop at 19.7mm.

In response to your question I started a new thread here which I suggest becomes sticky.

There are two Galoc designs as you can see on p.8 of the link in the new thread.
Galoc type I has a field triplet and eye doublet as in the diagram on p.8. TheAFOV is 75 degrees with eye relief at 0.87 times the focal length. It is good down to f4 so even better than Plossls in fast scopes. It's the original design from 1935.
Galoc type II similarly has a field triplet and eye doublet as in the diagram on p.8. TheAFOV is 60 degrees with eye relief at 1.27 times the focal length. It is good down to f4 so even better than Plossls in fast scopes. It's a modified design from 1989.
