I came across this advertisement earlier on the Rother Valley website.
I did not know Meade produced eyepieces in south america. Does anyone know what country they are actually made in?

That is interesting. I did some digging too and that is the only link I could find that mentions South America.
I used to post on the Meade forum but haven't in quite a while. I'll see if I can find anything from there.

In addition to Brazil and Argentina, Chile is a candidate.

I checked with someone I know with Meade that has enough history with the company to know if there were any Meade eyepieces made in South America, explaining the ad, etc.

His answer was: "Nope. Only sources on eyepieces historically were Japan, Taiwan, and China. I have never heard of any factories in South America."

He went on to speculate that someone may be getting the Meade factory in Mexico (just across the border from San Diego) mixed up with eyepiece manufacturing. The Mexican factory makes the top end SCTs.

Hope this helps.

Exactly. I'm surprised it's not an American company website.

Meade Series 4000 "Super Plössl" was Japan up to 1994, Taiwan for a couple years, then China ever since.
They might have had a production run that was sent to South America, and the eyepiece source could have been a retailer there,
but there were never any Meade eyepieces made there.
