thanks for that. From some images I thought that EPs such as the XWs would be 3" or more. Total length I'm meaning.

My range is based on various EPs went through my hands and TV and Baader tables. Looking at XW 40mm pics it does look that the barrel is over 2" in length. Feels unnecessary long, but who knows.

Bigzmey, I appreciate your experience. The reason I am asking is part of a DIY effort. I have a couple of EPs with bodies at the 2 1/2 " length but they are 1 1/4 " or smaller. The Celestron X-Cel LX. or their Luminos range are pretty wide as well and I was thinking to adapt containers to hold them. Hence my interest in length and width too. Thanks.
