ES AR 102 EPs

#1

Post by Michael131313 »

I have an ES AR 102 and am curious as to what EPs others have found that they like with this scope. I know it's subjective, but anyway. BTW no more than a 5mm exit pupil as I am getting up there.

Thanks Michael
ES AR 102 102mm, f/6.5, ES 254mm f/5 DOB, Obie 10x50, GSO SV 30mm, ES 68° 20mm, ES 82° 14mm, 11mm, 8.8 mm, 6.8mm, 4.7mm. Twilight 1 mount.

A 32mm eyepiece will give you just under a 5mm exit pupil (4.9mm) So anything between a 6.5mm and a 32mm
I had the Celestron version and generally used Plossl and Vixen LVW

I have a 30mm 68° AFOV Orion Stratus that would give a 3.1° TFOV and 4.6mm exit pupil.
Great for clear night panning around :)

I know that there is a calculation for figuring out the Exit Pupil, but cannot remember what it is - can anyone remind me?

Thanks - I knew it was something simple, but was too lazy to look it up!

They were a clone of the Vixen LVW eyepieces.
They are not as good as the LVW but for a lower budget set they are pretty good.
