University Klee Barlow2.8x

What up y’all,

Haven’t registered here since the other forum got invaded by spam. Shame on you old domain owner!

Anyways I just snagged an old Japanese Klee 2.8x Barlow, I assume it’s the older model from the 90s made in Japan. I wouldn’t consider it a snag actually cause it costed me $85 and I’ve seen em go rarely for like $55. The one I got however seems to be in spectacular condition.

I usually gravitate towards any optic that is Japan made so I’d like to ask any of you. Anyone had good experience with this Barlow in fast scopes? I’ve read one place that they do the trick well but I need more assurance that I didn’t just blow my money.

Basically just using this for my 10mm Delos in the dob. I feel like I’ll get a placebo effect too from the Japan made because I just feel like they have an edge I don’t know why. I was going to go for Televue but that’s basic, I need some spice in my three eyepiece collection.

If you’re wondering ;) I got 30mm Orion Ultrascopic (Jesus I love this so), 17mm Nagler, 10mm Delos. I sold all my Meade eyepieces and discovered I really hate Meade. (Sorry Meade fans)

So, anyone? Thank you!

I have not used one in anything shorter than f/7 but it works fine in that :)

That’s promising, I’ll be using it in an F/5, I’ve read UO is quality but this older model got me a lil spooked

It should be fine, I have read reports in the past of people using it in f/4 Newtonians so there should not be an issue.
PS: Good to see you on the forums :)
