Now that's what I call a mate

#1

Post by hal2000 »

My friend and observing buddy Jonathan rang me the other night, and asked if I had looked at a certain ebay site called ENS Optical recently. I said I hadn't, so he told me to have a look and ring him back.

This site sells second-hand gear in the UK (and maybe abroad, I'm not sure). Well, it was full of Televue eyepieces. I scrolled down and holy $%^&!!, there was a 15mm Panoptic!! I have wanted one of these for years, but they are rarer than hen's teeth.

I rang Jonathan back and he asked if I had seen it. We discussed it for a moment, and I told him I could not get it, because I don't have Paypal. Fear not says he, I've ordered it for you.

What a man. What a mate.

Yes, he has it. I haven't had a chance to use it yet, I've been away for a few days, and the weather is turning nasty after a fantastic week. Maybe next weekend.

All the best,

Dean

(PS: Gabby: have you seen this on that site? https://ensoptical.co.uk/index.php?_rou ... ier-ar-102 ) ;)

At that price I would suspect it was from the first batch as mine was.
The second batch and newer are much improved so would rather spend the 260€ and some peace of mind. :)

I should probably copy and paste my review of the Bresser and the Teleskop-Service 102mm f/11 over here.
