I need help! :geek:

We currently have two test forums. Neither is complete but there is enough there to see what we like and don’t like. You can open both forums and go back and forth to try out different features if it helps to answer the questions.

http://astroforum.hopto.org/
and
http://astronomy.hopto.org/

Please post your comments in regards to this forum (the one you are currently in). What I’m looking for are the basic things. We can change the looks of the forum ie forum titles, sub forums, groups etc etc so don’t focus too much on those. What we need to see is just how easy it is to both post and administer the forums.

So here’s what I need from each of you.

From a Co-Admin point of view.

• What do you like / dislike.

• How easy is it to moderate.

• Warnings and banning.

• Monitor activities.

• Please add any other concerns you have.

From a USER point of view.

• Registration

• 1st post thoughts

• Ease of posting, replying,

• Finding what you are looking for.

• Moving from place to place.

• Think in terms of first time users. What are THEY going to think?

And finally of the two, which one should we go with and why?

Between the two I prefer this one, everything is easily accessible and seems more straight forward.

I tried to add the image below the white-light image that Bryan posted as well as trying to start a new thread.

You weren't a member of the 'group'. (non-members) are required to 'request to join' before they can post to a group. I've set you up. (notice how your user name changed from blue to "solar yellow".....

Have fun!

I like it a lot. Not too sure about such a large choice on skins, but I've picked one that suits my eye colour :D.

Thank you Gordon and the staff for creating a new home........

Eventually we will get a 'feel' for what works and doesn't work. Then remove some that are not being used by the members. Everyone has different tastes but we found that some of the 'styles' don't like to play with the modifications we have put in place. Hopefully we can either fix them or we will just 'weed them out'.

Anyway glad you found one you like!

This one (choice two) seems pretty easy to use. The black theme is easy on my eyes and my battery life.

Not really. The only way I know of is to do a single "quote and reply" to each message. You could get creative with 'cut and paste' but it's a PITA to do.
