New guy living in Texas

#1

Post by JSTAR0057 »

Hello,
My name is Jim and I have always loved astronomy along with the views and pictures of our universe. I am a native of Los Angeles but spent over half my adult life in the Army. I now reside in Boerne, Texas. I loved photography when I was younger and recently as an older adult, I went out and bought a Canon EOS R with lens. It's an RF15-105mm f4-7.1 is STM lens. I ordered a RF15-35mm F2.8 L IS USM for wide-angle shots.

I am getting into astrophotography and my next step while I learn how to use the camera properly is finding the right mount for it. I am looking at sky trackers and various goto mounts / equatorial mounts. I look forward to reading and learning all I can on the subject in this group along with learning what the right equipment is that I will need. Thank you and have a great day!
