Hi antenna guy . That twilight mount you have ,is
It fairly strong as far as weight capacity goes ? I am buying a 102refractor and was wondering if it could take the heat.
It works well enough with my 6" SCT. I understand that people use them with various refractors but I can't really speak to that. You might want to take a look at the "Mounts" sub forum. (Just go to TSS Board Index and find your way from there...)
Thanks antenna guy . The scope I am looking at weighs 12 plus pounds . So I need something like 20 lbs capacity.
You're welcome. Bear in mind that you have to consider moment of inertia as well as weight. A long telescope needs a more stable mount than a short one. And, if you were to get into it, astrophotography is more demanding of stability than visual astronomy.

* Celestron C6 SCT on a Twilight 1 Alt-Az mount

Welcome to TSS Roverich! I have used my Twilight 1 with 102mm refractor. It works but not the best combo. It does not place refractor high enough for comfortable viewing and to accommodate longer refractor tube you need to keep the mount arm at 45 degree which is not as stable as the arm at 90 degree. IMO twilight 1 is most suitable for small (up to 8") SCTs.
