New addition to the forum extensions.

Post by Gordon »

We have added a new extension to the forum that allows you to notify a member to take a look at and or reply to a post.

This extensions add support for mentioning a user by starting to type a @ in the posting field.
Once you select a user from the dropdown, the [mention] BBCode will be inserted and after submitting the post it will create a notification to that user.

[mention]JimMinCT[/mention] this one's for you.

Hello Gordon.
It appears that this extension also imparts usefulness to the "friend" selection.

Since about noon today I have been receiving notices about threads I have not posted to. Then I realized that a user on my "friend" list had posted there.

At least it seems to be connected.

It should be as simple as putting the "@" [mention]fatboy1271[/mention] in front of the name and while typing the name a pop up list that matches what you've typed so far will show up.

Let us know if that is not how it works for you.

Cheers,
JT

Ya know, I do IT for a living so stuff like this is not new to me. I tried Edge and Chrome on my laptop at home. On my work PC I tried Edge, Chrome, and Firefox. I get no list after typing @J... BBCode is ON.

@JayTee even though I'm "manually" typing this, did you get a notification?

[mention]fatboy1271[/mention] I just confirmed, it appears to be a permissions problem. Let me do some work behind the curtain and see if we can fix it.
