This ended up being chili meatloaf, as I thought I had taco seasoning on hand. Nope, I had chili seasoning.

Anyone trying out any new recipes? I need some inspiration. I have found some online and in my cookbooks, but I would rather try some of yours that you might like to share with us.

Re: Show Us What You Had For Dinner/and your recipes
This eve - grilled hamburgers with a pinch of rosemary, oregano, basil, garlic salt and a TSP of worcestershire sauce. Mix all ingredients into the ground beef, form the burgers, let sit for 1-hour at room temperature then grill, two minutes on one side at 450 degrees F, flip, add slices of cheese, then grill on other side for four minutes. Poke a meat thermometer into the burgers and remove from grill when temperature in the interior of the burgers reaches 155 degrees F. Serve with tomato, lettuce, red onion, pickle (if desired) and your desired condiments.
Yum.
I also went to the market this morning and picked up three filet mignons for grilling on Father's Day. Tomorrow' repast will be Chinese.

Re: Show Us What You Had For Dinner/and your recipes
Here in the Uk our evening meal is around 6pm, so we've already eaten (therefore no photo.)
It was fairly basic though; pan fried chicken breast cooked in low calorie oil spray, and chips (potatoes cut into thin slices and cooked in an air-fryer with low calorie olive oil and chip seasoning. Quite healthy really as I'm watching my figure

Re: Show Us What You Had For Dinner/and your recipes
This is not the time of year we do serious cooking. Sunday is likely to be whatever I grill served on a bed of greens. The most complicated dish we've done since Mother's Day pot roast has been a new potato salad that my wife says needs significant modification. She did score some decent ribeye steaks yesterday. Need to find "peaches and cream" sweet corn to grill with them.
And Eric, love the new signature!

Re: Show Us What You Had For Dinner/and your recipes
Thanks. Now I just need to fill it up with astro gear. Reduced hours at work have made that difficult, but I'm hanging in there. There WILL be a scope in my not-so-distant future. Just don't know quite when yet.GCoyote wrote: ↑Sat Jun 20, 2020 12:35 pm This is not the time of year we do serious cooking. Sunday is likely to be whatever I grill served on a bed of greens. I devoured it, so no pics, but leftover bacon and cheese pizza from the grocery store deli section.
Recipe:
Bacon
Mozzarella cheese
Red sauce
Pizza dough for crust
Serve cold or microwave for 30 seconds. Easy peasy!

Re: Show Us What You Had For Dinner/and your recipes
Cold pizza is just one thing I cannot eat.
I like eating them hot, but they put me right off when they're cold - ugh!
Is it just an American tradition? In movies you see them taking them out of the fridge and eating them.
Of course, there's other foods I prefer to eat hot but can't stand cold - Baked Beans being one of them.
Maybe it's just me, I don't know

Judging from my own experience (I don't mind cold pizza either), I think it might be an American MALE tradition.Butterfly Maiden wrote: ↑Sat Jun 20, 2020 3:11 pm Cold pizza is just one thing I cannot eat.

Okay. For evening meal today we had a salad with chicken breast and boiled potatoes.
For dessert, I had baked a chocolate cake filled with strawberry jam.
We're now going to cuddle up on the couch and watch a movie whilst we eat the cake. The movie is Avengers Assemble.
