My news feed informs me that today is Jascha Heifetz's birth anniversary. He has many fans though frankly I have always preferred David Oistrakh and Nathan Milstein (who was soloist for the Beethoven Concerto accompanied by an orchestra I played in). So here's an appreciation:

Interesting but I do not think youtube playback is doing it justice, sounds high pitched with no bass, or it could just be me :)
I will have to check out some more.

Haiduk isn't big on bass, so that's a part of it. But playback sound is all down to your speakers/headphones. Def check it out more!

The band that has my favorite guitarist in the world - Jeff Loomis! I met him once. Good guy.

Arch Enemy is a little soft for my tastes but they have some great stuff too!

Some new Volbeat, December seemed to have been a good month for new albums!
The song is great, saxophone player Doug Corcoran and pianist Raynier Jacob Jacildo join them again to bring out the old rock & roll sound.
The video is bizarre though :)

Really know little about classical music. I do enjoy the sound of it when soft and mellow like Bach's Orchestral Suite No. 3 In D major.

Definitely, I own 2 of their albums on CD. Resurrection Through Carnage and Nightmares Made Flesh. Solid band with good production. I do prefer faster and more technical death metal such as Deicide, Decapitated or Cannibal Corpse tho. Still, great band.
