Re: 2022 A music thread
I hope I'm not throwing the proverbial stick into the spokes of whatever y'all have rolling along here and derailing this thing. VOLA is my kind of jam as of late, heavy yet very approachable... Their latest album is still the first thing I go to when I'm feeling like music and it's been months since I've discovered it. This is "24 Light Years", hope you enjoy.

Since the start of summer it has really been getting hot all over most of the US and other places too, with many experiencing record high temperatures. And the sun is extremely active lately too, with the latest Raben Systems Solar Active Region count now at AR3054. Here is a song which describes the hot days but also looks forward to the nights. Up next from 1966, here are the The Lovin' Spoonful with Summer in the City:
Although I prefer the un-remastered version of this, whenever I hear it I am reminded of that summer, 1966, when I turned 10. We stayed at my aunt's beach house in Oceanside, California, 100 yards from the shore, and this song was playing on AM radio stations.

~Makuser wrote: ↑Fri Aug 05, 2022 3:23 pm Hi all. As they said on the Monty Python TV show; "And now for something completely different". In 1961 B. Bumble & the Stingers recorded Bumble Boogie, which was a modern boogie version of Rimsky-Korsakov's "Flight of the Bumble Bee". And not to be left out, Liberace then performed his version on his 1950's/1960's weekly TV show:
I hope that you get a kick out of this and have a great weekend.
Sometime during the mid-60s, my grandmother took me to see Liberace perform at Melodyland, in Anaheim, California. The theater had a revolving stage at the center. I have no memory of the numbers he played, but I do remember lots of glitter.

Recently discovered a band I did not know existed at the time. A live performance recorded during the last year they would be together.
Lyrics were not their forte, on stage, but rather, the sound.
This is certainly not for everyone...

Another favorite,
.
I think this was in a Mazda commercial ?
.
I like the Song and the video...
.
Only thing I would CHANGE.... and I do.
Is when they say "Pulling at my Skin"
.
They should have said "Pulling at my Soul"... and that's how "I" sing along
