Just read about a new dog breed but the article also said they weren't very good. A mix of Terrier and Bulldog. Terribull.

I couldn't figure out how that wheel could come off because one would assume that there is a fork and an axle that contains the wheel so long as the axle is in the fork. Which one would assume. Some motocycles, like this one, use a single sided swing arm. (pros and cons for single or double sided)
The picture and the assessment from the team Henk linked to do not correspond.
The image in the link shows a wheel with the spokes broken in half so the hub should be attached to the cush drive of the motocycle.
If you look closely at the image I posted you can clearly see there is nothing attached to the cush drive and you can see the wheel hub.
From the image it looks more like the wheel studs were not torqued to spec after a tyre change though it should have been safety wired.
A weird incident that could have ended a lot worse.
