Yup, this is still the Wild West as far as crypto is concerned.

At times like this, I recall the words of an Army senior warrant officer telling a younger pilot, "Never fly the A model, that's what test pilots get paid for."

Any metaphor will tear if stretched over too much reality.

Hopefully the test pilots were paid enough to compensate for the risks.....
