Thats a great picture. Living in ireland Im not sure what that is, a Buzzard, a Red Kite??

Below are some of a regular visitor to my backyard - a female Sparrowhawk. She comes in to pick off the sparrows (surprisingly enough) that my wife feeds up over the winter. She also has had a go at a Collared Dove! She looks a little bedraggled because it was raining horribly that day. I like the one where she is looking straight at the camera. She had been looking into the bushes and i made a slight squeaking noise at which she turned and looked right at me. It made me glad to be a good bit bigger than a Sparrow!!

Some fabulous images on here. Here are a few shots from my holiday in Sorrento Italy in August/September 2019:

All taken with my Smartphone.

This is the view from our hotel room accross the Bay of Naples, and you can see Mount Vesuvius accross the bay.
IMG_0627.JPG
We decided to take a trip to mount Vesuvius and look inside the crater: The coach took us 1000 feet up and we had to walk up the last 700 feet.
IMG_0577.JPG
The view from the climb looking back over Naples.
DSC09399.JPG
The blossom on the trees was stunning, and I managed to get a close up of this in Sorrento itself.
Click on photo to get the image the right way up.

Good job. Those are tough to photograph! They never seem to stay in one place for long enough.

This little lady was so intent on eating the sunflower seeds she let me nearly stand over her and make this portrait.
I just kept softly asking if she would be my Valentine...

These two photos were commended in the recent International Garden Photographer of the Year competition. (Click to enlarge.)

The first is a composite of several photos of Painted Lady butterflies, which had a good year in 2019, flying around a Buddleia which I grew from seed many years ago.

The second shows the screen of my Infrared-converted camera, with rain drops, photographed with a normal camera.
