Hi all. I am still catching up with you folks, so count me in here. Our lily plants are all blossoming now. First is our Crinum (also called milk and wine):
Crinum lilies.jpg
Next is our Purple Heart:

and finally is our Gloriosa:

I just wish that we had brought some our Tiger Lilies from Illinois when we moved to Florida. I hope that you all enjoy these photos, and the best of regards.

Be careful buddy! You are liable to wake up one morning and find a whole Terminator standing there looking at you! :D

Sorry for the late reply; I just noticed your reply :D And yes, I really hope one morning I do; that would be so cool!!

We were actually outside, the both of us last night, giving the mother unit a break from her two children...;)

We made this; spoons, bicycle spokes, and two nail heads:

And took a picture of this moth. My first thought was, "Wow, look at the mop-top on him".

Oh, the moth? No worries; I can catch one tonight and I'll mail it to you....

I'm sorry, my lousy sense of humor dictates that I type that ;) Well, I'll tell you what:

I went to the dollar store the other week and spent $10 on forks and spoons. I have a few more ideas, God forbid; and though the individual does not know it yet, there's a member on here I'm sending an "Orion" to sometime next week:
Orion.jpg

If you're serious, myself or Sarah could make you an ant at the same time. Just PM me your address and we'll do the rest :D

All the best my friend,
Mark

Here is a beautiful blossom from our Hong Kong Orchid tree from a few years ago:
HKOrchid.jpg
This is what Hurricane Irma left us with:
Hong Kong Orchid Tree.jpg
A friendly neighbor came over to cut the tree parts down, and we had only the stump left:
Hong Kong Orchid remnants.jpg
Later we called a tree stump remover, When he arrived, he said; "Hey folks, you've got some new shoots here." He carefully cut them from the stump. 2 of the 3 survived the transplant into the patio pots using "Root Tone". 1 of the 2 survived the replanting into the backyard and it is really growing now:
New Hong Kong Orchid.JPG
We are very happy to be a part of this regrowth process, although it is slow. I hope that you all enjoy this story and the photos.

DEAD BABY

I previously posted 2 of 3 pictures that I submitted to an art gallery for an upcoming juried exhibition. The judges didn't accept either of them, but they did accept a picture I submitted as kind of a joke. I usually take light hearted shots. During the winter I took a 5 frame panorama. When I processed it I noticed that there was an artifact (probably a tree stump and snow) that looked sort of like a dead toddler lying the in woods. Anyway, it takes some imagination, but it was noticeable enough that my wife hates the picture and my son wants a large canvas print to hang over his fireplace. We simply call this our dead baby picture. It is printed on canvas. It is about 20" high and 48" wide, so it is a large print. If I can get a reduced version to load on here I'll show you the print and blow up the artifact. The open reception for the art exhibit is on September 6. I think the show will last about a month.

It is a great shot isn't it. Unfortunately I can't claim the credit for it. We bought a caravan at the holiday park on the north Kent Thames estuary and the lady selling the caravan took the shot a few days ago.

The view to the east looks out over the North Sea so I'm looking forward to some early morning Mercury and Venus viewing opportunities!

Regards

Graeme
