I took this shot at 1PM, it was fairly sunny as well. Set the camera on a rock and took a two second exposure. Middle of the day and it looks haunted....

All the best,
This is a wonderful image Mark.
You should post it up on your Flickr page.

I would like to put it in one of my gallery's.

Stay well my friend.👍

All the best,
I love time exposures of moving water - this really does have a haunted feel to it. Nice job, Mark!

Thanks Mark, much appreciated! I just put it up on Flickr; I saw you like my Moon/airplane shots. I was rather honored :D Though I have to say, all the others in your gallery are exceptional!
You stay safe too, buddy :D

Thanks Bob, I also like the moving water effect, but it's rare I'm down there; usually working :D It was a really warm day and the humidity was up, plus the river is in a valley. I'm guessing the camera just caught the moisture/haze in the air.
Yeah, sometimes you get lucky...

Thanks again and all the best,

Hi all. Here are some better and current photos of our herbal garden that I started a couple of weeks ago, now that it is completed, organized, and growing well. It is easy to water, weed and fertilize with the time release pellets.
Garden1.JPG
Back row - Parsley and mint. Front row -Chives and Tarragon
Garden2.JPG
Back row - Thyme and Marjoram. Front row - Rosemary and Oregano

Basil and Savory

If things keep going well, I may buy another rectangular planter and start some Coriander and Lavender. I have always wanted to make homemade fresh Lavender bread. Thanks for looking, and the best of regards.

Yes they are all wild birds, we do get lots of birds here, we dont get many finches, most of our small birds are honey eaters or sparrows, im just a bit to far into the suberb to get possums, but dont have to go far to see kangaroos etc. There are some bird pics in my gallery. Thanks for the comment. Hi all. Here is a large leaf from our Hong Kong Orchid tree, that was starting to turn color last winter, and finally fell off this morning. I took a picture today, as it looks like some kind of large exotic butterfly.

Thats a really striking picture. Can I ask, is the reflective area of ground spilled oil, or is it just general wet.

Just curious because growing up in Scotland I never saw oil fields like that. Ours were 300 miles out and 1000 ft deep in the North Sea :D

Take care

Hi David. The reflective area is rainwater. These fields are clean and the farmers plant corn or beans around these wellheads.

P.S.
The oil is pumped by underground pipes to storage tanks in a dammed enclosure at the corner of the fields. From there it is trucked away. There is some spillage inside the containment surrounding the storage tanks.

Really? That's very interesting. I would have expected a level of environmental damage in such close proximity to the well heads. Restores my faith a bit!
