I noticed banding in the sky after dropping this jpg of a Pale Swallowtail into the iNaturalist website. The bands go from upper left to lower right, only in blue. I "unstretched" the jpg in PixInsight and the pattern turned out to be diamonds!
Any thoughts on what might cause this curiosity?
This was an extreme zoom shot with a Canon PowerShot SX20 IS point-and-shoot.
