Christmas Day hit 81° with 79° Monday. Rain should begin Tuesday afternoon, continuing through Wednesday next week with varying intensities. 50s / 60s daytime highs.

If the forecast amounts come down, it will be like 2018 winter storm which was the last gully-washer we had.

Glad I just retired from the county road maintenance department!

Snow -> Subzero windchills -> Constant clouds -> Thaw -> Rain

Not a good month for observing.

I was out for a few minutes last night but the views were poor even with Mars almost straight overhead. No details at all.

Same here, 60's today with a bit of overcast.
This is pretty common in the mid Atlantic before the serious winter weather sets in from mid-January to early March.

32 degrees and foggy at the moment but still dark. Sunrise not until 8:02 am. Supposed to be non-rainy for the next three days but here you have to take what you can get.

It's rainy here throughout California. San Francisco had 5.5" of rain on New Year's eve. In Santa Barbara it has been cloudy in between rain. I went out for hikes at Gaviota Peak when it was somewhat dry. Not too many people around. It's not over yet, hopefully we get a good deal more.

Garbage. With more garbage to come. :angry-tappingfoot:

I think we had an inversion layer yesterday - foggy as all get out and I could smell diesel exhaust fumes from the nearby railroad tracks with no trains nearby.
