This time the weather was pretty good. I did some big rig checks, and got pretty frustrated again.
I don't think I'll do any more checks until I get the new tube rings (they should arrive at the beginning of June.)

I tried to take some star tracks to find the rotational center, but some madness hit me, and I tried to take a video instead of a long exposure photo. I also realized, I don't know how to use the imaging SW.

I don't even know if I actually got the stuff on the computer disk, but after the frustration, I haven't been in the mood of doing anything astronomy related. There was time to try with the Omegon, but I just couldn't. I haven't been able to check what, if anything, I got on to disk about those tracks. Maybe tomorrow. I'm still too upset.

I need to proceed more slowly with the big rig. Otherwise I condition myself out of the hobby.
Maybe I'll put the VX12 on dobson until the new tube rings arrive. I still need to get the cameras focused.

After a warm beautiful day near 80 last Sunday, we are back down into the 30s and 40s at night with highs in the 50s. I've already picked up some plants but I have to bring them inside each evening until Mother Nature gets her act together.

First precipitation reading for the 2022 growing season: .02" on the 26th.

Looks like decent weather tonight with the winds dropping. Tomorrow is forecast to be excellent. Fingers crossed.

The spring is weird this year. It's May 2nd and it looks like this.

Spring also seems strange here. Only just today has it started to seem spring-y at all, otherwise cold winds, rain and slush have kept blowing around for the past month. And April showers bring... mud. We also traveled to the mid-southern US recently and it was freezing there too! Very bizarre.

Same here in the mid Atlantic states.
Third year in a row we've had a cold dry April followed by a what looks like a wet May. If this week's forecast holds we will have more rain than the entire month of April.

A window of clear sky early this morning, so I spent a little time admiring Messier 7. Cold though - almost down to freezing with a north wind. Looking out my window now I see it's mostly cloudy again.
