Hard pounding cold rain, hopefully it's cleaning the pollen off the metal roof.

We had an overnight frost and a foggy start to our day :o

Where did that come from. It had been quite mild during the day, with us having the ceiling fan on in the Living Room all day :confusion-shrug:

Current temperature is 11℃ (51.8℉) with an expected overnight temp. tonight of 7℃ (44.6℉).

Our weather is weird

It went well past 60°F today. After looking outside and seeing nothing but a white frozen tundra to the horizon for months, this sudden "heat wave" feels almost shocking. Even the light coat that I yanked out of the closet from its winter slumbers seemed surprised. The last time I stepped outside the thermometer read 18°F. If this keeps up, I'm going to start warping.

Hope you got some observing time in.

As Vanessa said, the weather is just plain weird this spring.

I heard the heat running, then a few hours later the AC came on, then last night the heat came back on with freeze warnings.

Today started off very cold but it became rather pleasant.

For most of the morning we have had light rain showers and strong winds.

However, at this precise moment the rain has stopped and the sun is shining, but it is still windy.

Temperature is 13℃ (55.4℉).

This is the weather pattern currently in store for us...

UK weather.

The quote at the end of the article is a little bit of an understatement - "a reminder that spring can be a fickle season."

For anyone who doesn't know whereabouts I live, the map below shows the New Forest National Park area (shaded green). I live 'somewhere' in there, an area covering 124 square miles.

The little island below us to the south is the Isle of Wight.

Our weather forecast was correct.

We have rain and winds gusting up to 60mph at the moment :o

With trees all around our home we are keeping our fingers crossed that none of them fall down

Storm Noa was responsible for the high winds and rain we had been experiencing.

Devon and Cornwall on the southwest coast received the brunt of the storm, whilst we just caught the edge of it.

Power lines and downed trees occurred there, whilst we escaped the worst of the aftermath.

Well I pulled a bone-head move. We've had sunny weather for at least a week here in California's Central Valley, with 10-mile visibility 24/7 for at least the last three days. So I was excited to join our club's first public outreach for the year tonight, where we set up at a shopping mall and give folks a look at the moon. And when I arose from my post-lunch siesta it was sunny and clear. So since I haven't been out in months I pulled my gear out of storage and put it all together in the dining room just to check things out, and only then did I look outside. DUH! At about 4 p.m. this afternoon it was about 60 percent clouded over, and now, at 7, it's 100 percent. Oh well, at least I could refresh my feeble brain on which end of the eyepiece goes into the diagonal and which end of the tripod sits on the ground.
