Dark, low cloud cover too. A typical UK day :sigh:
Cheer up! It's supposed to be clear skies from midnight (allegedly!) Not sure if the on-going sandstorm is going to scupper everything though...... not sure if it will reach this far.

For a change, the weather here isn't downright appalling... outside things look and feel inviting for the first time in what seems like eons... a glance out the window doesn't fill me with terror or hopelessness... I'm always afraid that spring may never return, but that good old earth-sun gravitational relationship hasn't let me down yet... I think it just might work again this year...

The sandstorm has arrived in the New Forest Dave. At least it was here yesterday.

Sophia and I went out in our car and it was immediately covered with fine particles. Just looked like red brick dust.

I suppose we will have to wash the car now  Maybe we will wait a little bit first, just to make sure the air is clear again

43 degrees rain, why should I expect different? - Northwestern Washington now instead of California, about 20 miles from the border with B.C. Here's a pic from the living room of the new digs...

Looking reasonably promising... :)

Realised my dob secondary wasn't central (spider vanes adjustment required). No idea what the actual visual effect (detrimental) would have been... Anyway, I've collimated fully again and will test out tonight. Hopefully the seeing will be considerably better than last night though!

We've had an atrocious February and poor March so far... :p We're due for a decent spell! ;)

Just come in after an hour or so before the Moon had really risen... Had a nice view of M42 especially at high magnification. Waiting now for the Moon to come up further and around into view...

I have been here ten days and so far the sun has come out a few times for brief intervals, but cloudy nights. I understand summertime is a lot better. So I am looking forward to seeing the rich Milky Way of that season.
