Winds with 70 mph gusts over the past 24-36 hours, large fire ignited near Big Sur with over 1,500 acres burned, not contained. Early fire season I guess. Oh boy.

For a moment it looked like a clear night, but if anything else is not available, the cloud gods bring in the northern lights. Such light ones that look like light gray clouds that materialize and immaterialize. Nothing much to admire.

Well, on the other hand, forecast says it'll last only for about an hour. Then it should be cloudy again. Even while clear, the seeing is, according to Meteoblue, 2.79".

Extreme cold has broken, cloudy, a good deal of lake-effect snow in the burbs next to Lake Michigan. One more dip into negative single-digit F temps tonight with clearing, but not as cold as the past few nights.

Meanwhile Number One Son texts me while dining in t-shirt and shorts al fresco in Guadalajara, MX.
