I just picked up my roast turkey from Poulet, a hot chicken store down the hill. They sold pre-cooked turkeys on Tuesday an Wednesday this week, so you don't have to cook one tomorrow. I asked and they said that they sold 319 turkeys this year. What a lot of work!

When a colleague checked on me to see if I was still in he said "Have a good holiday". Me: "What, is there a holiday?". He: "Yes, tomorrow is Thanksgiving!". Good thing he told me, I would just have come to work and wonder why there was nobody there. Happy Thanksgiving all.

I had accepted a tutoring session for today. When I realized what was up a quick email suggesting that families might be stressed at that and the appointment should be moved. ;) oooopsie.

Love these and we are in fact having pot roast.

Truth be told, our family has moved away from turkey for T-giving over the past few years. After doing it the traditional way for decades we finally came to the conclusion that it simply was not that important to any of us. This year we had beef loin, pork loin and ham, and our oldest daughter and husband hosted it for the first time rather than having all the mess here!

We all of course are thankful for good health, our comfortable lives and our grandson who just turned 5 earlier this month. :)

As long as you can still have cranberry sauce and stuffing with whatever the main dish is, then fine

Which indeed we did! Homemade cranberry sauce, dressing, dinner rolls, gravy, mashed potatoes, pies, cookies and pumpkin bread. Turkey was not missed in the least. :)
