Orion 0.8x Reducer

#1

Post by Baskevo »

Hi guys,

So I want to get a reducer so I can get in fit in more targets like m31 and the California Nebula with my new ZWO ASI1600mm Pro and the ES 80mm FCD100 with a 2.5" HEX focuser.

Looking at astrobin, I see a lot of people using an "Orion 0.8x reducer/flattener" but all I can find is the Orion .8x reducer, and it does not say anywhere on any purchase site that it is also a flattener. Does anyone know if the .8x reducer also acts as a flattener?

Or, better yet, does anyone have any recommendations for a flattener/reducer combo? I was looking at the Orion reducer, the Stellarvue (either 2" or 2.5") reducer/flattener, and the astro-tech reducer/flattener, but the astro-tech accessories are never in stock...

Thanks y'all!
