ZWO ASI294 & SW Esprit 100ED

#1

Post by lostone »

I'm pondering on getting a ZWO ASI294 cooled camera for use with my Esprit 100ED.
What i'd like to know is if there will be anything else needed to ensure the camera mounts properly to the back of the scope. I'm using a DSLR now and am wanting to move to a dedicated camera.
If your using this scope & camera setup. You advice and experience with it would be greatly appreciated.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most! :tease:

I have the same setup. The camera comes with all the extenders you need to get to the 55 spacing from the back of the field flattener. You'll find the diagram on the ZWO website. I'm having lots of fun with this setup.
Scopes: Esprit 100, 12.5" Telekit Dob
Camera: 294 MC Pro, 224 mc, 2600mm
Guiding: ZWO 290 mini on 120mm guide scope
Mounts: EQ6R-Pro, EQ Platform.
Filters: Optolong L-Pro & L-Enhance, Chroma 36mm LRGB, 5nm HA, 3nm OIII, 3nm SII.
Software: SharpCap, SGP, StarTools 1.7, Photoshop, Pixinsight

I just got mine a couple of weeks ago. Haven't used it enough to make an opinion. But last night I seemed to be having a focus issue with it. I used SharpCap Pro for the software. Could not get it focused live either while looping... Not sure why. I used it on my Celestron SCT with a f 6.3 reducer bringing the FL down to 1480mm, but I forgot to select 2X binning. So I think i was under or is it over sampling so my stars were bloated, and maybe that's why the focus issue...

Not sure...But I hope to get this figured out. I also stepped up from my Canon 800D T7i
