Should I buy this filter
I use an Optolong L Enhance with my mirrorless Sony. Now I am upgrading to ZWO ASI533 MC Pro. Should I buy an L extreme? I live in a Bortle 4 zone. So light pollution is not that very disturbing.

Try no filter first then see what your results are and determine where to go from there.

Re: Should I buy this filter
Definitely try what JayTee said, except you will need at minimum a uv/ir cut filter since the 533 does not have one.
I also use a ASI533MCP with a L-eNhance inBortle 7-8 skies and really like the results. I’d say try the 533/L-eNhance first.

Re: Should I buy this filter
I'm in Bortle 3 and do not see a need for this filter. You will require a UV/IR cut filter as the infrared sensitivity of this camera will spoil the colors. Unless it is already built in, my 1600MC requires one. I do shoot a narrow band Ha and OIII with very good results.

I already have an UV/IR Cut...so first let me check with no filter, then L enhance..thanks all for the reply.

Re: Should I buy this filter
a little note, i was using lp filters (chroma), they tend to give a very slight blur, loss in detail on galaxies ,i've discontinued using them and just learn to crop gradiants and use post processing, if i image nebula using rgb ,i'll use ha filter for lum .
bortle 4 should be somewhat manageable for broad spectrum . each to thier own, there are trade off,s check out some wide band ha filter or even duo, triband , you'll have to convert images to mono and probably drizzle your images . personaly, i never found good value with lp lum filters ,not the best at imaging galaxies with, but can give some enhancment on nebula .

A lot of it has to do with the type of object you are going to be imaging. I have the L-Pro, L-Enhance & L-Extreame.
