Talk about new ways to confuse things!

I have been going crazy trying to get the spacing of a Coma Corrector correct.

I took measurements and realized I needed to step down from a 7mm to a 5mm.

I looked everywhere for that M48 x 5mm spacer. Never found it. Ordered a whole new set :(

They arrived today and set out to install the new 5mm spacer. While doing so I discovered that the missing 5mm spacer had become 'stuck' to the CC. I thought it was a part of the CC. So all of my measurements were off by 5mm! The stuck 5mm was stacked with a 7mm for spacing of 12mm. I had been measuring it as 7mm!

So all I really had to do was unscrew the 7mm spacer!!! :D

Well, at least now, you have a bunch of spacers if you ever need them.

I was trying to figure out what spacers and adapters I needed between my Paracorr and my EFW2. I couldn't find any reference to the output thread on the back of the Paracorr, so I called Televue's tech support line. I got transferred to a guy named Al who didn't know. I wasn't impressed, and posted to that effect. I learned later that "Al" was Al Nagler!

I ended up getting Precise Parts to make up a single adapter for me. Their design-an-adapter online app knew which threads to use, so I didn't even have to worry about it.

Isn't the old saying "measure twice, buy once"? :D

Heh I measured probably a half dozen times. Kept looking at the CC and thnking "What is that strange line" not realizing that it was actually a spacer!

For whatever reason this time the 5mm spacer cam off with the 7mm. I looked at it and realized "Oh! Thats two spacers!" :D
