Jupiter and his royal entourage
Last night, I set up the club's 20" to try to image Jupiter and Saturn again before they got too low in the sky. For fun, after I was set up, I aimed my infrared thermometer at my driveway: 93°. I pointed at zenith and got a reading of 49°. I guess that explains the shimmering view through the eyepiece (click image to view animation):
Despite that, the images stacked fairly nicely:
I was also able to get a cool picture of Jupiter and all of his royal court:

So I guess I've been getting your share of the rain. Been raining almost daily for nearly two weeks here. Just now (as in a few minutes ago) got put under a severe thunderstorm warning. And Virgo isn't even in the night sky now!
