Your comments suggest to me that you were looking in the evening?

You probably already know this but early morning is the prime time for meteors not evening when the visible sky is looking towards the Earth's direction of travel. In the evening, the visible sky is mostly facing the trailing direction of the Earth's motion around the Sun. The result is that in the morning, the visible sky presents a much bigger collision cross section to the meteors with the Earth's atmosphere.

Joe
Thank you Joe.

I was going by the information in the following link for viewing the Draconid Meteor Shower which was supposed to peak over the evenings of 8th and 9th October.
I stand corrected. It is the only meteor shower I have ever read about that peaks in the evening. Of course being so far north, I'd never read about it.
cheers
Joe

If I hadn't seen that report Joe then I certainly would have believed you, so don't feel bad about it :)

Im traveling - trying to beat bad weather -
Camped at - Bisti Da Na Zin - great place - -
back still hurt so did not hike around - or pictures -

did see Very Bright Red moon - was just a sliver -
thought it was a fire at first - was Low on horizon -
reddest moon i have ever seen -

Have to say Everyone here is lost - park maps are so bad -
maps are so bad it had to been done on purpose for some reason -
this is popular spot -
better map would keep peps from trampling over cool stuff -
there is a mineral spring here

did put out night cams but not much going on last 2 nights -
meteor activity has dripped off alot - lowest since i got cams -

last 2 weeks 2 or 3 meteors a night -

Heading to Roswell NM - nice small town - warmer -
if i can will camp a few nights and put out cams -
going to try to stay at old missile base - not sure -
