2x Meteors one makes right turn ?

Post by Groovy2 »

V3 cam recorded 2 meteors one minute apart this morning -
video is from the One minute clips V3 records -

1st meteor was visible only one frame -
looks like 2 pieces -
one piece turns to right -
was real bright - fast -
Cam has recorded many meteors that look like they turn -

2nd meteor is what I was looking for in One minutes clips and found
meteor that turns by luck -
Turning meteor is Not on Timelapse recording but the 2nd meteor is
and is what I was looking for -

Time Lapse recording has captured 20 plus meteors that look like
they turn some in the last month or so -
when I first saw meteor make turns I thought it was cam glitch -

Also have been seeing meteors with many pieces -
one had what looks like cloud of 50+ pieces and thick flash - Looks cooL

There is a Large amount of meteors that are on One minute clips
that cam records that dont get recorded to Timelapse video -

Frame rate of video clip this is made from I cant figure out -
it could variable - may be 12 to 15 frm
15 fm seems to work best so far -

some conversion frame rates Lose frames - meteor flash no show -
30fms was real bad -

the one minutes clips on V3 are pretty low quality -
loads of big noise -

this video has No filters but is 5x compressed to upload

That "turning" meteor doesn't show any characteristics of a meteor at all, But I can't tell you what it was. Maybe a cosmic ray strike on the sensor or something like that.
It's a cool capture, whatever it may be though.

just added- Hard Mix- filter to video clips
tried different settings to see what looks better when
even more compressed to 7mb -

this is first time to try Hard Mix filter on one minute clips -
filters out noise Amazing well - lots of adjustment range on this filter -

I have found that multiple single exposures work well for meteors. I have never seen one make a turn but I have seen fragmentation.

I went back threw last nights one minute clips
found 11 meteors from 4am to 4.25am

Looked back on May 7 morning and found 18 meteors and 4 fireballs -
in the One minute clips - this was close to Lyrid shower

I may gather up these 29 clips - convert them and edit together
lots of tedious stuff - will make nice show

I added Hard Mix filter filter to this meteor clip and is looks Great on my screen
file cam out 23mb - Real smooth very little noise -

I compressed to 1.6 mb for video below - amazingly small -
uploaded and tried to watched @ 240p and for as Tiny of file it looks ok ish considering file size -

cant wait to get hooked to real internet again - No more compressing files -
I have over a years worth of cloud timelapse video to upload -

I've never seen one make a 90-degree turn, but I have seen one that kind of zig-zagged before burning out. Don't know if that was a projection effect or if it actually was tumbling or something. Maybe more likely it was space junk because it was pretty bright.
