Some funky colors in Registax? - Lunar processing

#1

Post by UlteriorModem »

I was working with this data in Registax for the wavelets, and sharpening.

Tried one of my old templates all these blotchy color patches showed up everywhere.

I went ahead and processed and saved the image to show you, but now it looks 'normal'! Maybe Later I will get a screen grab of it.

Here's the somewhat finished data, obviously not cropped :D

I will get a screen grab of the colors in a few minutes.

That usually crops up as a result of Autostakkert not using the proper Bayer matrix on the data before you even get to Registax.

Even with my ASI174MC, sometimes Autostakkert uses RGGB, sometimes GBRG, or any combination. I have it set to auto. Most of the time it uses RGGB, but sometimes, it goes off on a wild tangent.

Might try running your data through Autostakkert straight from SharpCap and skip the PIPP step and see what you get. I never use PIPP on my lunar data and I tend to get by ok. :D

I have tried all that with similar results. Tried 'auto' tried force GRBG.

I think the issue is in the capture format. I used 16bit avi

I told you I am rusty with planetary :D

Sorry, I'm old, you're not. It was a reference to the movie Animal House and the naming ceremony.

I thought it was mildly amusing, but sometimes I'm my own best audience!

Sokay, never seen the movie, just bits and pieces. Not my cup of tea :)

Went back over the data trying all kinds of settings still the same issue, so I suppose it is the data itself.

Aha! found the issue! I had Autostakkert set to 'planetary' instead of surface. One little change made a big difference! :D

Over stretched it a tad but it's better.
