Re: Astrophotography Lab - A Limited Overview
i ran the suggested imaging option, it gave me 330 second subs, 88 frames (this is with my 7nm ha filter), i selected 8 hrs worth ,which on average is what i typically put into an image .

Oh! somehow I was under the impression that you were the author. My mistake. I frankly was a little taken back at your response of "Hope you get our problem sorted out". My mistake.
The ONLY way to contact him is by email?
No one else has run into a false positive with the install?
Hi UM - I found his email in the program at Help/User Guide/Contact. I don't know any other way to contact him.
yobbo89 had some problems, but, now seems to have the program working.
I'll be glad to answer any questions I can. Did you follow the steps in my other "complete" tutorial?
Steve

Re: Astrophotography Lab - A Limited Overview
No I haven't looked at the tutorial yet.
I did manage to get it running thought.
First I had to navigate to the .exe file, right click on it, choose properties, on the main tab in the lower right corner there is a check box "Unblock" tick that and it runs fine now.
Also found I had to add a camera first before it would let me add any files or it throws the "Python" Error.
Now that I have it running I will look at the tutorial. My thanks!

If you don't mind, would you let me know how it turns out for your system?

Yea, trying to round up relevant files now. My first run gave me read noise of zero... so looking for more relevant data.
BTW I assume the files should not be stretched?

Re: Astrophotography Lab - A Limited Overview
Here are the results of my first 'successful' run. Frankly I don't know what a lot of the numbers mean but right now just making sure the thing works
Anyhow these numbers are more beleavable, with the exception of saturation capacity. With a full well depth of 46,000 for the 071mc you would think that much higher.
So I am off to read the tutorials, thanks.

Re: Astrophotography Lab - A Limited Overview
Hrm, I ran image calculation and the noise numbers are null. Is it possible that the 071 (CMOS ) read noise and dark current are so low that the program cannot calculate them?

Second, when you completed step (7) in the tutorial did you see a value for Read noise in the Computed sensor data window? If not, you might have missed one of the required actions along the way.
Hope this helps.

Steve, I have been sifting through this thread and frankly have found it difficult to find the links to your tutorials.
Is there any way to put the links in the Anchor post? I think you have more than one tutorial.

Anchor post is the first post that started the thread
Thanks I remembered to bookmark it.
I did follow that tutorial pretty much to the letter earlier. May have over looked something. I will delve into it some more tomorrow.
