Question for StarTools/DSS users.

Hi all,

Quick question on processing DSS file in StarTools. I've read different advice on which way to open the files from my OSC camera. Should I open the file as "bayered and white balanced (1st option) or linear and bayered but non-white balanced (2nd option). I do have the RGB and Per Channel calibration turned off in DSS.

I use DSS and StarTools to process images from my OSC cam. I always choose the second option, Linear and Bayered but non-white balanced.

Starfield - are you using a DSLR or a dedicated astro cam? For DSLRs, my understanding is that the first option is the one to use, as there is no way to avoid some sort of inherent white-balancing for them.

I'm using a ASI 294mc so a OSC. Sounds like second option is the way to go.

Oh great! Now I have to reprocess my latest images yet again :sigh: :twitch: non-white balanced. Be interesting to see if there is (much of) a difference.
